Well it has been a long time now hasn't it?! Fear not.. I'm back working on the solo project and this time an album will emerge in the end. I am determined... Got a little sidetracked trying to get to grips with ProTools. I have now abandoned this idea completely and gone back to trusty old Garageband to do all my home recording. Todays track is an idea I am working on using a great Octowah sound on the MPX-G2.. Trying to break away form all the floaty tunes and come up with something a bit grittier. I think this is well on the way... Let me know what you think. And if you get a chance and fancy it... could someone please leave a few ratings on the iTunes page? Maybe even a review? You know you want to... Cheers Simon
Sorry it's been such a long time since the last post, but I've had several other projects on the o recently and had to put the solo stuff on the backburner for a while. But fear not dear listeners, I'm back in solo bass action now! Todays track is entirely improvised. I wanted to experiment with the compositional possibilities the Looperlative offers. Hence there is no particular tune to sing along to (as if!) as I was concentrating more on textural improvisation. This is one of several similar takes. I chose this one because it was more mellow and a little sloppier than the others. Just felt better for now. Let me know your thoughts. And if someone could write some sort of general review on the iTunes page, that would be most appreciated. It looks a little bare...
Todays track once again features The Beast through the LP1 and MPX G2. There's no discernible tune to this one, it's purely an improvisation. I was experimenting with a few new sounds. Still can't get enough of the lead guitar sound. Those of you following my progress on Twitter today will be expecting the Buckethead-esque madness that kicks off about halfway through the track. I wanted to see what the lead part would sound like played back double speed and backwards. Well... it's sounds like this... Hope you like it. Let me know your thoughts.
